Only the Slashdot frontpage will be accessible tonight between 23:00 and 23:15 EDT while maintenance is occurring.

(Interesting. When I preview this, the blockquote tags are ignored. Oh well, I'll add an i tag so it blockquotes anyway)

Yeah, looks like that blockquoting <i> tag thing got broken, that must be what they're shutting everything down to fix.

Wow, they're shutting down the site to fix a tag? Sure makes sense to me. Fix the broken moderation system? Not a fucking chance in hell. Fix a tag that not that many people use? All over it!

On certain screens of slashdot, the i tag was styled to do the same thing

does. It lead to

odd looking sentences, like

one. It certainly adds emphasis to those words, though.
