Remember, MicroSoft has been found GUILTY. Don't forget it. The issue is just the punishment. Personally I don't see why the court doesn't just opensource the whole MS Operating System Code base. Let them keep their applications on every level (including MS IE) and just Open Source an agreed upon "Operating System".
We could even compromise and make it Windows 95 that was open sourced or maybe Windows NT 4? Pick one, Windows CE maybe? Just one MS OS open sourced... no applications included (not even notepad) and that would be plenty good.
Wouldn't even hurt them that bad really, they'd still have MS Office, MS IE, MSN, Windows XP ect.
