Journal turgid's Journal: Mitt Romney's Attitude 5
The Guardian has a very insightful and informative editorial called Mitt Romney and the myth of self-created millionaires.
Although I'm British, the US Presidential elections are 6 weeks away, and this man stands a good chance of soon becoming the Most Powerful Man in the World, which will affect us all.
This is the man who recently wrote off Democrat supporters (47% of Americans) as being feckless, lazy leeches on society.

That is a matter of opinion. Bush did not win the election in 2000, and the election was questionable in 2004 considering the previously unimaginable degree of voter suppression that delivered him "re-election".
That is the good news.
The bad news should be shared, too, though. Yes, Obama will win the election; there is almost no doubt of that. However there is a huge difference between the Obama that the US (and indeed the world) thought was elected in 2008 and the Obama that has been POTUS for alm

The first time, it happened largely because the republicans wanted the presidency much more than the democrats did - or at least, more than Al Gore did. Al Gore filed a lawsuit over the election results and then basically surrendered as soon as the suit reached the supreme court. Granted, the supreme court was stacked with judges who were appointed by Reagan and Bush Sr., so Gore had almost no chance of winning there regardless, but he could have at least put up a marginal fight.
