Ever since I read _Robots of Dawn_ as a kid- Gladia Delmarre had a similar interface for giving orders to her robotic servants that she imported from Solaria. Having a TI/99-4A with a 40-key keyboard and funky function and control combinations for a lot of characters, this seemed like heaven.
In reality, it's just a modern version of a macro keyboard though- and I suspect, in the long run, will be equally useful (less).
