    • And I'm pro gun control.

I don't think everyone who's pro gun control is an asshole. I was pro gun control once, but I was also pro death penalty, and I changed my mind about that, too.

      • I'm pro-guns and pro-gun control.

Just like I'm pro-muscle car and still pro- traffic laws.

I just don't believe having to get a license plate for my car and take a test in order to get a license is the same as "They're taking away our cars!"

I haven't heard anyone in a position of responsibility suggest seizing anyone's guns or taking away my right to go buy a Smith and Wesson .45, but from the people who refer to themselves as "Second Amendment Activists" you would think they're threatening to come to my hou

I'm in favor of a little bit of reasonable gun control. Say, a little less than we have in California, which by the way used to have a state law protecting your right to carry a firearm in a public place. That was back when they were interested in protecting freedoms, not denying them.

Please don't tell me you want me to go over the clear and obvious ways cars and guns are different.

You forgot Dianne "Take away your guns but not mine" Feinstein. She'd like to take away whole classes of gun. And she is seemin

Reasonable, as in: out of the hands of people where it would cause most unwanted damage. Problem being: everybody understands that children should not carry guns, they're not considered smart enough to vote so better not have their hands on weapons. But should every adult be allowed to have as much guns as wanted? Why not limit it to one handgun per person, carried on the person? Sniper scopes and silencers aren't really necessary for self defense. Hollow points are. Large magazines are. Frangible bullets a

Did you know that one of the categories of laws that the NRA is pushing in legislators across the country is "Gun Right Reinstatement" which allows for convicted felons to get back their right to own and carry?

We have states where felons will get their right to have a gun before they get their right to vote.

There's an effort here in Illinois to require gun owners to report it when any gun in their possession is sold, give

Don't get me started on felonies. I'm against people who have committed a gun crime getting their license back trivially, but we have criminalized so many victimless crimes in this country (and indeed many many of them felonies!) that the very idea of a felony has been cheapened beyond any credibility.

The fact that you can be disenfranchised because you have been convicted of a felony is one of the grosser violations of our rights as citizens. Step one, criminalize behavior engaged in by target group. Step

  • But I am beginning to be pro ammo control.

    To this extent.

I think that assembled ammo is only useful to armies and cops. Commercially ammo should be only sold retail inside city limits as kit ammo- cartridges, bullets, gunpowder, primer, and crimping tools. Non-commercially; at gun shows and in the secondary market, as well as in small rural outlets far from city limits, ammo should be legal to sell, but only created at home from the commercially available kits.
