"Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" [youtube.com] (Mark Twain)

Slashdot's biggest problem is that at "news for nerds", we're now vastly outnumbered by normals who think they're nerds because they have an iPad. I don't know of another, better nerd message board.

It isn't dead yet, but K5 died after Rusty started neglecting it; it was a pretty big deal in its time, now it's a ghost town. I see it happening here since Taco left.

It's been over-run by other social sites, it's a real pain to post comments, and the lack of technical articles is really painful.

Oh, c'mon you guys.. Any place where an article about GNU/Hurd [slashdot.org] can still draw a crowd [www.cbc.ca] can't be all bad...

I had moved on to a WordPress blog, but these days, it's all Twitter.

Abby Martin just smashed a TV with a hammer, and I got turned on. She's wearing pink suede heels.

Am I normal?

It's only a problem if leopard shoes are a turn-on.

Twitter is to the Internet like chunks of corn are to a BM.

I finally understood BM not as bosun mate, but as bowel movement.

I finally understood BM not as bosun mate, but as bowel movement.

Some chiefs would say that's a distinction without a difference.

I have to agree with some of the other comments I see sprinkled here and there - it has become much more of a PITA to post here, and there are fewer and fewer people posting. There's enough happening to keep me somewhat interested, though.
