I'm starting to detect some deviation from the former regime. Posts are no longer as controversial. My comments are not moderated as frequently - or at all. The front page is not as timely. There's a chance my idle maunderings don't even appear to most folk. The 16 hour outage of Hotmail and such remain unreported here. Something is amiss.

It may be time to take my leave of /. It was a long wonderful run but when it's over, it's over.

Problems (1)

Posts are no longer as controversial.

I've never experienced that problem — I attribute that to configuring all of the down-moderation modifiers to positive values.

My comments are not moderated as frequently - or at all.

A month or three ago, two changes occurred: I could no longer modify relationships with anyone with FoF and/or FoF flags ("Apache error"), and I stopped receiving mod points. I reported the above to admin@slashdot.org, and received mod points the next day — both problems persist; I suspect those last mod points were given manually. That's why you haven't been moderated by myself, and who knows how many others.

The front page is not as timely.

Your ID only predates mine by about 250k... Are you telling me Slashdot was "timely" in that period prior to my arrival? ;o)

There's a chance my idle maunderings don't even appear to most folk.

I read everything you write; (I have all of my single-degree relationship modifiers set to +6).

It may be time to take my leave of /.

A foolhardy endeavor, if you want my opinion. Slashdot may suck, but everywhere else sucks even worse.

Slashdot may suck, but everywhere else sucks even worse.

Then the only winning move is not to play.

I've made it a habit to friend everyone who friends me, since if you're reading my JEs it's only fair to read yours, but I hit the subscriber limit on # of friends last year.

I've never foed anyone, but that may change. I might start foeing folks who appear to be high school dropouts (like those who would write "dont loose you're bananna's" and refuse to start sentences aith a capital). AFAICT nobody in my fans list (or freaks either, for that matter) is like that.

I haven't had mod points in over a year, despite the fact that I seldom get modded down and usually get at least one +5 a day. Before they dried up I was getting 15 points a day. It's weird.

Hotmail :) (1)

Does anyone still care about Hotmail? I thought it was something people used a dozen years ago. I didn't even realize they were still around!

Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo mail, email is email. I got a rocketmail address about ten years ago because I got tired of having a new email address every time I changed ISPs. It would have to get pretty bad to want to change addresses.

If my home email was down for 16 hours I probably wouldn't even notice, I usually only check it once a day anyway. If I'd seen that in the firehose I'd probably have downvoted, it just doesn't seem like a big deal.

If you leave... (1)

You won't know how Nobots ends.
