Journal symbolset's Journal: Shadowbanned? 6

I'm starting to detect some deviation from the former regime. Posts are no longer as controversial. My comments are not moderated as frequently - or at all. The front page is not as timely. There's a chance my idle maunderings don't even appear to most folk. The 16 hour outage of Hotmail and such remain unreported here. Something is amiss.

It may be time to take my leave of /. It was a long wonderful run but when it's over, it's over.

I've never experienced that problem — I attribute that to configuring all of the down-moderation modifiers to positive values.

A month or three ago, two changes occurred: I could no longer modify relationships with anyone with FoF and/or FoF flags ("Apache error"), and I stopped receiving mod points. I reported the above to admin@slashdot.org, and received mod points the next day — both problems persist; I suspect those last mod points were given manually. I've made it a habit to friend everyone who friends me, since if you're reading my JEs it's only fair to read yours, but I hit the subscriber limit on # of friends last year.

I've never foed anyone, but that may change. I might start foeing folks who appear to be high school dropout

Does anyone still care about Hotmail? I thought it was something people used a dozen years ago. I didn't even realize they were still around!

Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo mail, email is email. I got a rocketmail address about ten years ago because I got tired of having a new email address every time I changed ISPs. It would have to get pretty bad to want to change addresses.

If my home email was down for 16 hours I probably wouldn't even notice, I usually only check it once a day anyway. If I'd seen that in the firehose I'd probably have downvoted, it just doesn't seem like a big deal.

Those who can, do; those who can't, write. Those who can't write work for the Bell Labs Record.
