  • Thats exactly the reason that I've never gone on a date, ever. It always seemed to me to be a crushing experience.

    My fear and inadequacy caused me to develop a totally different technique and approach to the opposite sex. It has been working pretty well since I was 17. Now that I think of it I might release it under the GNU GPL ;)

      • After 1 year with my X and 7 with my significant other (still going strong) I've reached some conclusions:

        I make sure that she is my companion and colleague first and foremost. With the common interests and needs. After the romance is over this is really all thats left in the long run.

        Fierce individuality. I cannot stress this enough.

        A burning compassion for other subjects. Woman seem to love competition.

        Romance can take a flying jump. I'll take brutal truth any day.

          Thanks for your advices, but.. isn't it a bit hard to verify things about the girl without dating her? I could continue chatting with her on IRC, but I was afraid someone else would steal her, and besides I don't like text chats much.

          • The intrusive element here is no doubt remote communications. Text chats and such.

            At one point I led a lengthy correspondence with a woman to whom I taught the fundamentals of photography. For over half a year we talked on the phone, E-mailed each other and chatted on-line. I kept myself strictly to photography. When we met for the first time to work in a photographic darkroom the tensions were palatable. There is no doubt in my mind that prolonged correspondence without physical contact is ultimately
