1) Seldon wouldn't approve, simply because their statistical data set would be far, far too small for his liking. He'd be looking for mathematics applied to uncounted billions of marriages.
2) He was married to a robot, R. Dors Venabili, so methinks his perspective on marriage would be skewed. [*]
* ok, that's just my opinion... though as far as a relationships go, his was actually pretty healthy (less the not having kids thing) and he had two "sons" so he had a full "family."
