Fantasy Football: The Autodraft

I wrote an email about it, but I'm writing this to be doubly sure everyone gets its setup quickly.

Go to the league page, then "My team" then "edit pre-rankings" then "edit my rankings" and on you "my rankings" list, put your round 1-5 picks IN ORDER as your top 5 choices.
If everyone does this, it will preserve our first 5 rounds of email draft. After that, you can just stop and let yahoo do the rest of the rankings (actually quite a clever system), or you can go hog-wild and make a huge list.

If you have a lot of time, you can put everyone elses picks in the 'do not draft' list, so its easier to determine who else to put in your list. Helio put the draft list in alphabetical order to help this out (switch to 'all' and rank by 'name' to find players quickly).

Something to note: Yahoo's rankings for DL and DB are GAWD AWEFUL! So at the very least, you may want to rank some DL and DB to avoid the 'add/drop' party that will happen after the draft.

Lastly, please tell me when you've setup your top 5 picks, so I can turn on the draft readiness (once you click 'ready to draft' it picks a time to draft, which is usually a couple days in the future, so its best to click it when you are bare-minimum ready, then setup the rest in the next couple days before the draft).

bare min ready (1)

I am bare minimum ready. I have my 5 and I'm nearly done with the Exclude List.

Likewise, I have my 5.

I got five on it. [lyricsdepot.com] Oy. Wait, I'm not even in the league am I. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

Man, I haven't heard that song in years. On old girlfriend of mine used to play it all the time.

That was just about the time I was phasing out of Rap into Techno... I heard it out and about, but I never really have heard the whole song. I liked the whole bass line/high notes thing they did in it though.

Legal Benches and Allowed Positions (1)

Cliff (4114) | about 11 years ago | (#6758006)

FK (and the rest of the leaguers):

It might be good to restate the positions allowed, and their allowed number for those of us who are now trying to get their lists finished for the auto-pick. Something here and in email would be the best, that way we cover most of the players at once (as some might be checking email more regularly than they check JEs).

Just a thought. I am over-bare-minimum ready, as I have my exclude list done, but I need to finish up my lists as I only have half of my choices in.

Thanks

- Cliff

If you go to the league page, then "League Settings", you'll see all the info you want.

Starting:
1 QB
1 RB
1 WR
2 RB/WR (RB RB, WR RB, or WR WR)
1 K
2 DL (which can be DE, DT, or LB)
2 DB
And 8 bench spots (to be whatever you chose).

bye points (1)

heliocentric (74613) | about 11 years ago | (#6759613)

One thing I never understood in the League Settings is this option:

Bye Points: Yes

What does that do?

Re:bye points (1)

IIRC, your team accumulates points when they are not playing in the FFL, but are playing IRL.

Why does this matter? It doesn't for us, because we have an even number of teams so no byes. But if there were an odd number, the total points can determine tie-breakers at the end of the season, so points on your off week could give you the victory.

He didn't ask if it mattered.... ;->

Ahhh. I meant to add more information. Not to sound like an ass. I failed. :).
