Journal rbullo's Journal: You Bitch!!! 4

My browser's broken. It seems that sometimes it will refuse to open a page, even though there is a good connection. I have to tell it to "Work Offline", then put it back online again. It usually happens when I open a new window, and it's a pain in the ass...

  • Sounds like a problem with TCP/IP drivers. In Windows, you can probably solve this by uninstalling and then reinstalling Dial-Up Networking (even if you're not using a dial-up connection).
    • Call me an idiot, but I can't find an option for uninstalling Dial-Up Networking on my WinXP box. If it helps, I've got a U.S. Robotics V.90 faxmodem, model 5686.
      • Hmm. Right now I'm sitting at a Win98 machine so you'll have to figure out how this translates, but on Win98 it's
        -> Control Panel
        -> Add/Remove Programs
        -> Windows Setup tab
        -> select Communications from list and press Details button
        -> uncheck Dial-Up Networking

        This probably requires your Windows installation disk.

No man is an island if he's on at least one mailing list.
