John Harrison's Journal: Let's see how long it takes them to reject this one!

Sunspire Studios has begun shipping commercial orders of the formerly beloved and now controversial game Tux Racer. I know because UPS sent me an order tracking number today. Misread it at first and thought, "But I didn't order a SunFire. Somebody at Sun is in BIG trouble." Anyhow dowloads of the new demo for Linux and Windows are here. This might be a good time to debate the ethics/merits of making your GPL'd game non-free for a while in order to sell it for $. You certainly won't be able to sell services for a GPL'd game.

That is true, my dear AC, but the fact that it changed from free to not-free with a promise to be free one day is a subject that is worthy of debate by nerds.
