Journal idiotnot's Journal: Week 4 Picks

Well, I pretty much stunk up the place last week, going six and eight. I r teh suck. Maybe I ought to quit doing this.

Sunday, September 28th

Arizona at St. Louis 1 p.m.
Uhh. My heart says "Arizona." My head says "St. Louis." My head also says "Rams ain't got Marshall Faulk." But it doesn't matter. Rams 32, Cards 28.

Atlanta at Carolina 1 p.m.
ZZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZZ. Field Goal battle. Panthers 12, Falcons 9.

Cincinnati at Cleveland 1 p.m.
Browns are back on the Couch. But even Jon Kitna will have no problems with Cleveland's Defense. Bengals 17, Browns 13.

Jacksonville at Houston 1 p.m.
Byron Leftwich gets the start. It should be David Garrard. Houston isn't that good, but their defense is strange enough that it will confuse the hell out of a young QB. Texans 22, Jags 14.

Kansas City at Baltimore 1 p.m.
I'm still not sold on Baltimore. Kansas City is blowing people out. I think this will be pretty close for awhile, but I think KC will hit a couple of scores, and Baltimore won't be able to come back. Chiefs 35, Ravens 26.

New England at Washington 1 p.m.
The best defensive mind in football against the best offensive mind in his own mind. I think it'll come down to whether the Redskins stumble out of the gate again. If they can keep things close, they'll win. If they fall behind, they won't be able to come back like they did against Atlanta and New York. Redskins 30, Patriots 27.

Philadelphia at Buffalo 1 p.m.
Are the Eagles really this bad? McNabb just doesn't have any weapons. The Eagles' defense hasn't been that bad, but they have to get some offensive production for that to show. Bills 16, Eagles 10.

San Francisco at Minnesota 1 p.m.
Gus's revenge. Okay, so maybe not. Minnesota's defense has been playing better than it is, and somebody will figure out how to move the ball on them soon. I don't know what was up with the 49ers last week, but I don't see it happening again. 49ers 24, Vikings 20.

Tennessee at Pittsburgh 1 p.m.
Best game of the weekend? Bah. Both of these teams scream "boring." Titans are overrated. Steelers can't run the ball. Steelers 19, Titans 16.

San Diego at Oakland 4:05 p.m.
People have figured out Oakland's offensive scheme. Marty Schottenheimer's teams don't stay bad very long (although he did open 0-5 with the Redskins). But I don't think they pick up their first win *in* Oakland. Raiders 27, Chargers 21.

Dallas at N.Y. Jets 4:15 p.m.
Vinny will make Parcells wish he'd made the trade. Well, if Paul Hackett pulls his head out of his ass and realizes that they're going to have to throw some passes downfield. Jets 20, Cowboys 14.

Detroit at Denver 4:15 p.m.
Is there anybody who thinks Detroit can win this game? Broncos 31, Lions 14.

Indianapolis at New Orleans 8:30 p.m.
Colts are 3-0, Saints are 1-2. The Saints can't lose this game. I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll find a way to do so. But I'm going to be a Homer anyway. Saints 36, Colts 33.

Monday, September 29th
Green Bay at Chicago 9 p.m
Does anyone actually think that Chicago can win this game? Maybe I should reverse that statement. The Packers suck. But not as bad as Chicago. Packers 17, Bears 3.
