BTW, I'd just like to point out that just about all countries except the US seem to get along quite well without having a gun in every pot.
As for mine, I know that I feel *much* safer walking the streets at night in Europe, Australia, or China than in the US.

Let's just say that if you stick to the party, you are not voting out incumbents, you're just playing a shell game.. Voting for a republican is not a vote against the democrats, nor vice versa. You still stuck with a lousy team of crooks.

Truth is the safest places in the US coincide with high rates of civilian firearm ownership, and the same is true everywhere I can find reliable statistics to examine the question with. (For instance, Sweden is one of the safest places in Europe, and also has a very high rate of legal civilian firearms ownership.)
The US is only particularly violent in comparison with Europe when you consider our 'war on drugs' insanity, and it is worst in the places that have effectively outlawed civilian firearm ownership
