These Democrat operatives can return to Hell

  • Why filter this through the WSJ's lenses? If you're going to critique the document, critique the document [documentcloud.org].

BTW, I'd just like to point out that just about all countries except the US seem to get along quite well without having a gun in every pot.

As for mine, I know that I feel *much* safer walking the streets at night in Europe, Australia, or China than in the US.

    • I'd just like to point out that just about all countries except the US seem to get along quite well without having a gun in every pot.

It is certainly the case that you can SELECT, FROM, and WHERE the data to make this assertion appear true.
But, when I just don't believe you're arguing in a forthright manner in the first place, "What difference, at this point, does it make?"

I know that I feel *much* safer walking the streets at night in Europe, Australia, or China than in the US.

You sure are bringing the nebulous, boss. I commend to you the walking of these streets. All of them.

    • Oh, and great job on pointing the gun at the guns, rather that focusing on three pencil-necks from "down the coffee shop" who're all about avoiding rational debate, and instead playing mind tricks on people.
      • ...all about avoiding rational debate, and instead playing mind tricks on people.

Yeah, I know what you mean, man. I seem to be encountering a lot of that lately.

It is certainly the case that you can SELECT, FROM, and WHERE the data to make this assertion appear true.

You got it... The US is more comparable to Venezuela, Colombia, and Brazil. And for REAL gun freedom, you got your Syria, Somalia, Libya, Uganda, Kenya, and Congo there.

Mind tricks? Just to let you know, I believe the 2nd amendment applies to in

        • Silly one: the Bill of Rights applies to the Federal Government, and restrains it from becoming. . .the Orwellian sack of crap it is today. Oops!
          • restrains it from becoming. . .the Orwellian sack of crap it is today.

It does? Not since 1791 it hasn't.

Can I bet you a dollar that you will continue to vote for your 'lesser evil' republicans in the upcoming elections, despite all your... 'hooey' is it? Although I am 'unbanked', I'll find a way to pay it off..

            • Can I bet you a coffee that I will be involved in throwing as many of those "lesser evil" republicans under the bus as possible at primary time?
              • And afterwards? Then what? Gonna take the plunge and vote your conscious? Or will it be business as usual?

                • Wash, rinse, repeat: purging incumbents at the ballot box seems like the overall best way to alter the situation.
                  Your suggestions are welcome.
                  • Let's just say that if you stick to the party, you are not voting out incumbents, you're just playing a shell game.. Voting for a republican is not a vote against the democrats, nor vice versa. You still stuck with a lousy team of crooks.

                    • Let's just say: Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Allen West, Joe Miller (off the top of my head).
I respect your commitment to staying in character, and refusing to acknowledge that this here internet is making any difference.
But the anti-establishment sentiment on the right is real, fabulous, and will eventually diminish the Statist's power.
You're welcome to cease the poo-flinging and join the revolution.
                    • Those people are hardly a 'revolution'. *sigh* I guess it's gonna remain the same ol' same ol'... All the best.

                    • Let's just say: Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Allen West, Joe Miller

You're planning to vote for all of them?

                    • Off in the distance, past the un-funny fraud implied by your question, I guess there's a joke struggling for freedom.
    • by Arker ( 91948 )

Truth is the safest places in the US coincide with high rates of civilian firearm ownership, and the same is true everywhere I can find reliable statistics to examine the question with. (For instance, Sweden is one of the safest places in Europe, and also has a very high rate of legal civilian firearms ownership.)

The US is only particularly violent in comparison with Europe when you consider our 'war on drugs' insanity, and it is worst in the places that have effectively outlawed civilian firearm ownership

      • Again, the issue isn't the 2nd Amendment. Rather, the deliberate, anti-intellectual propaganda assault.
Somehow I doubt this kind of material is a black swan, not to get all Alex Jones about it.
But this reinforces my default assertion that Lefties just don't argue in good faith.
  • You know, for a second there in the other JE you seemed to be in danger of losing your religion [slashdot.org].. Good to see you've recovered your sense of humor.

By the way, let's send these democrats [forward.com] along with them...

    • "Oh, Steny, our love, holds on, holds on. . ."
Hoyer and my Congresstool, Jim Moran, represent areas covering ~1/3 of the borders of Washington DC. They are emblematic of our Congress's metamorphosis into something as odious as the Parliament against which the Founders rebelled. Combined, they suck as much as John McCain.
Breaking the capacity of smallish outfits like AIPAC over our politics involves working on:
      - Term limits for pretty much everything, including curtailing Civil Service careers
      - Re-think
