Jerusalem Journal: Bomb in Haifa, the response

  • It was reported on one of the morning chat shows that the woman living in the house that the IDF destroyed today, the home of the terrorist lawyer (yes, I know, redundant) who blew herself up in Israel, gave candy out in advance for when the home would be destroyed.

    Not sure if it is true or common.
  • Is there any sense in the Israeli media that the strike on Syria is part of any coherent plan? It makes no sense to me unless the government is acting out of pure frustration. I certainly understand the frustration -- Arafat is the fundamental problem but is untouchable and there is simply going to be slaughter on both sides until he's gone. But Sharon and the rest are running the country and there has to be a higher level of responsibility than "Expel Arafat!" -> "Kill Arafat!" -> "Expand settlements
    • I'm just glad they're killing terrorists. I was literally dancing around today when I learned that Israel finally got the guts to attack them in their sponsoring countries. I saw the headline on Drudge that essentially said: Israel Attacks Syria. Halleluyah!! Woohooooooo! Finally! Could Sharon be growing a backbone?!? I take this as a very good sign. I don't know about any plan, but this is an extraordinary, positive change in Israel's defense policy.

    • Due to Yom Kippor the Israeli media was shut down, (as was the rest of the country). So its hard to say. I am not a spokeman for anyone, but I think this response is based on the fact that everyone knows Syria has been sponsoring various terorist groups, and we have finally had enough.
