The Almighty Buck 11

"Simply stated the DEA's story (and they're sticking to it) is this: Operating from hide-outs in the mountains of Sinaloa and million-acre ranches in the Sonora desert, goes this narrative, with bandoliers loaded with spare ammunition strapped across their bare chests, Mexican drug lords direct the worldwide drug trade.

In fact, nothing could be further from the truth. In almost every country in which drugs are a factor, a corrupt elite in that country controls that country's drug trade. "

when i was in 5th grade... (1)

i wrote an anti drug homework in 5 minutes before it was due that morning. i wound up reading it to the whole school. i am not an expert but now i know better, drugs are about control. to enforce drug laws requires much money spent on taking away things that make people happy (if useless from feeding their need for medications) just because they aren't getting it from some doctor they can't afford when they can get 'bath salts' or other synthetic or classic drugs... i have been on pills that make me happy when i take them -- anti anxiety prn which i abused by asking for it daily. i would twitch waiting for the drug. it was very mood altering. i imagine these feelings toward a medicine are like drug addiction. i don't trust though so i don't dare buy synthetics or other 'not illegal yet' substances. some days i could really use a drug to blur my worries away.. but it was scarey being addicted... needing the med to feel good is not sustainable.

It took me 40 years to realize that nobody "needs" drugs. They are luxury- they are want not need.

Except anti-psychotics. And sulfa drugs. And anti-biotics.

Oh, and pain killers. Sometimes they are more than just a luxury. Especially in surgery.

It is sometimes a luxury to be allowed to live.

Are we supposed to enjoy life, or suffer through it?

The two are not mutually incompatible. It is perfectly possible to enjoy a life of suffering.

living proof here. i enjoyed a high level of suffering or at least thought i did. turns out i was depressed not because of lack of medication but from believing a lie of what i wanted in life vs what i really needed in my life. i wonder how many tears were shed over what i did to like minded sufferers...
i did need meds but not for depression. and i think i would be fine without my meds but i was told that people go off their meds thinking they are cured and relapse and i am not willing to relapse. my life is good but i hate being so alone. people tell me it will work out when i am ready, one of my sisters also took a long time finding someone. sigh it's not like there are any non bar places to look, and i only go to bars with my parents to watch a football game on a channel we don't get. so other than that one football game a year. heck i almost met people through my hospitalization, but i was not ready then. i am not sure about being ready, but i know how nice it feels to do something good for someone else.

With the internet, there are more non-bar places to look than ever before in the history of mankind.

And that is even without the porn sites.

The way I met my wife was through Together, Inc of Oregon, which eventually got bought out by Relationships NW and then by, gasp, eHarmony, and with each iteration their fees went down.

Then you need to try the sites that require you to enter a 20 page personality profile for proper matching.
