Journal intermodal's Journal: Pushbumper pics 15

Showed up around 1:10, and rolled out around 2:10 with a new black grille, a new Go Rhino pushbumper, and a repaired (for free) license plate bracket freshly re-bolted onto the front. Here's the pics:

  Before: front shot
  Before: side shot
  Before: angle shot
  After: with headlights on
  After: with headlights off

Next project: emergency lights, stealth-style with hide-a-strobes and flashing red lights.

Note: mind the line on the hood in the after shots, it was parked partially under the overhang of the roof where the rain was dripping on it.

  • Or has your IP address changed during the night? I can't reach your pics (neither ping the machine) and the IP address of www.systemalchemy.org resolves to a ppp connection:

    [Silky:~] jorg% nslookup 67.70.30.244
    Server: mowgly.jungle
    Address: 192.168.0.200

    Name: Toronto-HSE-ppp3863237.sympatico.ca
    Address:&nbsp ; 67.70.30.244

    • Hmmm... the IP address just changed again! (Now: 67.69.185.13) It still doesn't work. I'll try to check on the pics later, once you get things fixed.
      • if it's failing for you, you can always try removing the www or changing the domain in the urls to minimanga.com/~cargo or www.minimanga.com/~cargo (my account on another domain of the same server). What you're probably running into is a cached IP for the domain, which is on a dynamic DNS.
        • Now it works.... I have my own cached forwarding DNS, which gives trouble sometimes. But usually after reloading the second time it goes through.
          • Fucking shit!

Is that even legal. If you hit someone with that it is certain death! Look, I already dispise "bull-bars" on Jeeps/SUVs, but this is a bit overboard.... My opinion of course.

            • actually it's very legal. Many car dealerships here in Texas even offer it installed on brand new trucks. Almost all law enforcement vehicles here have them, too.
              • I can only say it is dangerous and I hope that you never hit a pedestrian. That this is allowed on special vehicles like (real) cop cars, I can understand. They could need to ram a car during a pursuit. For a normal citizen, it is beyond me.
  • Car from San Antonio? Trip from Sherman to Howe? Where is cop stuff located?
  • I have been wondering why the emergency vehicle do dads? Are you EMT? Currently police? If not, I thought only EMTs or currently employed and official police vehicles could have the light bars, etc.
