does anyone know if tor is standard on ubuntu?

i noticed on my ubuntu laptop that tor is running and at a low pid, is tor default as installed at /usr/sbin/tor i havent checked logs yet i just noticed it is installed and running.

As far as I know there is nothing special about low PIDs. They get assigned sequentially. For more detail, see the wikipedia article [wikipedia.org]. Now, if you didn't install it, then I'd be worried. I can't say for the latest versions, but on my 12.04 LTS (work laptop), this is what I get when grepping processes on the string "tor".
