I am a total arsehole to women I really care about.

Well not care about but well, the ones I am attracted to lets say.

So today I was on a date with this girl I have been involved with in the past. We had a great time catching up, we ate together at bella pasta (50% student discount) then chilled out in a quiet bar.

That is when I realised that over the whole time I have known her I have hardly made any effort with her and she is the one that always calls me, that texts (SMS) me, that arranges to meet me.
While I just go on in my own world totally oblivious of her! This is sad because she is an amazing person and when I get tired of the player lifestyle I'd love to spend the rest of my life with a girl like her, I'd love a girl like her to my be mother of my children, but I am afraid that if I met somone as caring and sweet as her I'd push her away, because of what I am like.

I make no apologies, this is just me.
here is an example: after our date I let her walk back to her sisters car and went out clubbing with other friends... quite a successful night we had fun. but looking back at it, its not the nicest thing to do to a girl is it? its basically saying : "OK IT WAS FUN TONITE BUT NOW IM GOING TO THE CLUB TO FIND SOME SLAGS WHO WILL SUCK MY COCK, FOOD WAS NICE WASNT IT".

There was a time when I had a chance with her but I didn't take it, and now after all my neglect its probably over. Oh well I wasnt ready for a serious relationship but when the time comes I don't want to be like this.

  • Are you also this way with male friends? I know I am. I am never the guy that calls, SMSes. It's the same with women and men. This means, indeed, that the people that I consider my friends constantly have to call or SMS me, in order to see me.

      • I know... that particular joke would have got me fired plus I would have been sued to hell. However, people here have humour and know when it's a joke. I probably wouldn't survive in a US-workworld for two days. "Get a grip, I'm joking....           You are right, it depends on who you talk to. I was taking pictures at the company Christmas dinner and one girl told me not to take her picture. I asked why not and she (jokingly) said that someone might recognize her from the internet. I said, "No they wouldn't, because you have clothes on." She laughed and let me take her picture. I wouldn't have said that to too many girls there.

            • Yeah, she's cool. She's one of the few who can cut up and you don't have to worry about her getting offended. There are a couple of those where I work. I was leaning over the receptionists desk looking at her PC one time and the PMs secretary walked up behind me and pinched me on the butt. I turned and looked and she shrugged her shoulders and said, "What? I can't resist a cute butt, and you had it all stuck up in the air!" I just laughed.

        Americans really need to learn how to lighten up, and rather than get mad, get even. If guys start blabbing obscenities to me here, they get the same right back at them. You have to take what you dish out, right?

    • You are right, I never really call people unless i'm arranging something. I use the phone to say things like:

      Me "Be here at XX:XX and I'll meet you"
      Them "OK"
      Me "OK"
      Them "BYE"
      Me "BYE"

      I too am going to try and force myself to make more of an effort with people. I have so many great friends but I take them for granted, I'm worse with the mentioned girl though.

      I think I should get out of her life and stop messing with her.

    We were on the way back from our daily outing and he was talking on his cell to a girl. Afterword, he began to pine about how someday he'd love to marry her because she was such a nice girl, but only after he'd given up his rompous life and was ready to settle down....

    I do not know whatever became of him or whether he got to marry her or not.
