Journal damn_registrars's Journal: Go ahead bitches, bring it. I can take it 15

Some cowardly fool just moderated down ten of my comments in a single journal entry. Did it impact my karma here on slashdot? Not in the least. If they wanted to make a point maybe they should try writing a reply instead of taking the most cowardly of their options.

I was done in about 3 times in a row, last year. Finally emailed the admins.

So far there has been nothing to recover from, it has had no effect on my karma or postings. This JE is just to taunt the hacktacular idiot who is modbombing me.

Other people have presented the argument that it may be better to just remain silent while they waste their mod points on me, to prevent them from using their mod points on people who would be vulnerable to their effects. That is probably sage advice however I like to taunt them back for being cowardly.

It's happened to me a few times but never hurt my karma.

        • It has been a while since it last happened to me; it has certainly hit several times in the past as well. I should probably take your old "back-biters anonymous" advice to heart on the matter...
  • Even when I have mod points, I rarely take the time to use them, and then in positive ways.

I know it wasn't you - you were in the discussion where it happened. Regardless I wouldn't accuse you of it even if you were eligible to mod said discussion, as I still believe you are decent enough not to do such a thing.
  • ...that reminds me of that saying that in acedemia the politics are so vicious because the stakes are so small.

Last time I checked, Slashdot Karma isn't linked in any way, either direction, to the amount in your bank account or how much your family cares about you.

It doesn't even carry over to other websites.

As for your unseen "tormentor", maybe in a year or three their acne will subside and they'll be old enough to hit the bars and they'll finally start "getting some" and lose interest in this nonsense.

Correct. And the tool who thought they could make a statement by mod-bombing me didn't even move that trivial metric.

      As for your unseen "tormentor"

I don't really even consider it torment. I mention it here just because it seems rather obvious that they follow at least some of what I write here, so I might as well taunt them here on how wasteful it was for them to expend their mod points on me in that way. They could have used those points in a meaningful way but instead opted to do this, and failed at getting the result they wanted

  • Now someone just went and moderated most of the same comments "funny", which brings the comments' scores back up. As I said, I don't need them moderated back. They can stay at zero or whatever they were moved to by the first coward, I don't care. It didn't move my karma or affect me in any way here or elsewhere.

Go use your mod points on someone who can benefit from them. I personally don't think that JE comments should even be allowed to be moderated but that doesn't matter.

For God's sake, stop researching for a while and begin to think!
