Journal Chacham's Journal: Verbiage: On Pinky and the Brain 2
Hargreaves, Arkwright, Watts, Thomas, Tucker, Metcalfe, Gore, Duke, Cerf, Welch, Auger, which helped Edison, Thompson, Dumont, Amek, Speilberg, Paulson, and LaMarche via Babbage and his legacy. And so, i was watching Pinky and the Brain.
Last night, i started watching the first of a three-part episode. Not being able to stop, i finished all three parts. And for dessert, I had the final episode, Star Warners. Pork-pie and the Fez was absolutely hilarious, yet A New Zort takes the cake. I had to hit pause just so i could finish laughing. Strangely enough, the Terminator reference came at just the right moment.
The answers are many, the questions are few. Do i like how Brain treats Pinky? Not really. In fact, i considered stopping watching it simply for the bad influence (which is one of the two reasons i stopped watching Golden Girls). However, Pinky likes being treated that way, and, in a way, it's Brain's way of expression his feelings. Seriously, if he didn't care, he wouldn't have him along at all!
What are their personality types? The better shows have the characters typed well, though many movies, even though all supporting characters are typed well, the main character--being a hero--is typed in more than one way. That displays the poor style of the story. Examples of that are Spiderman, Harry Potter, and Paycheck. In all cases where the main character was portrayed as an ISTP until the plot required otherwise. (Worse though is that the character in Spiderman should actually be an INTP, with Spiderman being his ISTP alter-ego. It was truly a horrible portrayal.)
Brain is ENTJ, Pinky is ESFP. Instead of the usual I/E pairs found in excellent match-ups such as Fred (ESTP) and Barney (ISTP), both Pinky an The Brain are extraverts. The matchup was mostly NT/SF, with J/P making their outlook so backwards. ENTJs enjoy taking over the world to make it a better place, think of Limbaugh, Hannity, Gates, (Cohen,) Shaw, Napolean, Greenspan, Sagan, etc. ESFPs just want to have fun, think of Clinton, Monroe, Goodman, etc. (Oddly enough, Reagan was an ESFP too.)
My favorite episode? Well, Star Warners is ranking high, simply because i just watched it, it had the Animaniacs in it with their puns, and it's probably the only episode where i understood the entire parody. Then again, the "And Larry" episode got me. At first i thought someone hacked the episode, but that didn't last long. And now, when i hear "Pinky and the Brain" i want to scream "And Larry!". Talk about condtioned response. Having him at the end of the reunion episode was beautiful. I really have to hand it to Speilberg; I wish it was available in DVD.
The best plot to take over the world? For some reason, i liked the giant fans, where people would not be able to stand on the ground. Ranking close by is a magnet to pull all pockets with loose change downwards rendering the wearer immobile. For some reason i remember that episode's ideas (along with Hoffa). Paper Mache Earth requires honorable mention, however. But, my choice may have to be for taking over Tom Bodet's larynx. That one simply caught me off-guard.
Which character would you like to be your friend? That one's easy. Pinky. I don't trust The Brain. And besides, Pinky is fun, has a lot of luck, will never use you for his own plot, and could probably win big on Jeopardy or some other inane trivia show. If they were the Animaniacs, it would have to be Yakko. Dangerous, but the most responsible. Even if Wakko has such a nice voice.
Then there were the words. I used dictionary.com expensively when watching P&B. I doubt "affinal" has much use, but "aglet", now there's a good word.
All in all, i wonder why it ended. It and Animaniacs were absolutely hysterical.

I actually think that it's the other way 'round than people think; the few times Pinky tried to take over the world, he succeeded (and was usually brought down by the brain).
I've not seen it, but el Husband says that there's an ep where you see things through pinky's eyes and it all makes perfect sense.

Perhaps. Pinky does know quite a bit when it is relevant, and The Brain is quite single-minded.
