Journal shadowbearer's Journal: Funniest posts 11

This post attached to the MS Security Chief's latest idiotic statement, has my vote as the funniest post this week. Thank you for the laughter, Tackhead. The brain screen images are fabulous...

Now I have a topic to pursue on my journal; posts which at the same time are funny, insightful, etc ->> PLUS display the most creative use or abuse of language in general.

Think of it as the George Carlin Tribute; GC is, in my opinion, the absolute best at displaying all of those attributes. He just has this way of making one think whilst simultaneously devolving into hysterical laughter...as Tackhead's post had me doing.

I welcome any and all submissions. Maybe there'll be a poll :) (Hey, now *there's* an idea - "Funniest Slashdot Post" :) 10,349 comments...)

We could rate it in ounces of liquid snorted thru the nose, or perhaps in damage incurred in falling off the chair, etc....

  The possibilities boggle the mind.

  • PAHAHAHAHAH!
Yes, YES! That ruled! I am also partial to BlueStrat's reply regarding Microsoft's trade secrets.

If you want to read another funny one, you'll have to read 3 or 4 parent posts, but I lauged my ass off at sbennett's reply [slashdot.org]. Start here [slashdot.org].

    • ...and no, it's not because I have a blue Strat myself.

    • BlueStrat's reply

      ? :)

      • Sorry, should've linked [slashdot.org].

BTW, it's still funny, but it was funnier the first time I read it. I should know by now that I have to re-read any Microsoft slam if I want to determine its true humor quotient, because there's that anti-Gates zealot in me that always yells "YEAH! That's the funniest thing I ever heard!" the first time around.

        • I think Tackheads comment probably qualifies solely, on it's own, as a pretty decent rant, without involving Microsoft at all - it's generic enough. He certainly has a good command of rhetoric *chuckle*.

After some thought, I think it'd be better to start a slashdot funny posts website, rather than the journal - the journal is kind of awkward. I wonder if any such thing already exists? Google time.

I'm already hip-deep in website design for two others, tho :(

But it's on the "to do/consider" list.
  • In the article on the RFID tags in $20 bills, [slashdot.org] there's this one [slashdot.org] by , and I have to plug myself here, even though it's undeserving of its +5 score, [slashdot.org] because I got FP.

Oh, and I just got some mod points. [slashdot.org] Lemmeno if you have suggestions.

    • I'm a dork. Forgot that I still hadn't mentioned that post was by Channard.
      • Here it is, here it is! I'm still remember this thread from nearly a year ago, I nearly shit my pants. Man, those were still the dialup days for me....

        Attached to the Poll My Crime [slashdot.org] from April 10,2003;

        This Thread [slashdot.org] :)

Boy, I had to dig for that one...

    • Yeah, I saw that one briefly this morning before work. I'm not a Transformers fan, so I'm afraid the humor mostly went over my head; I
      got the gist, tho.

I'd definitely like to include some of the comments from this article [slashdot.org] tho :))) Talk about slashdot Iconage! *grin*

      • This one [slashdot.org] is also pretty funny....AMAF that whole article had a lot of funny posts. I really should look thru my huge bookmark files, I've been bookmarking funny posts for at least the last year+

A project for another time, I'll just keep collecting them for now...I have two other webpages to finish first. But keep sending them, I'll welcome all I can get.

        Another idea I just had....maybe a blog...heehee :)

        Thanks!
