Journal eglamkowski's Journal: "palestinians" 3

Ok, I've been "debating" on usenet over the Israel v. Palestine issue (largely as a result of the killing of Yassin). I think I'm done with it, so here's my summary analysis of the conflict:

In life, there are winners and losers. The arabs (the so-called "palestinians") are the losers. The jews are the winners.

Is this "fair"? Does fairness even matter? Did anyone ever promise that life would be fair? I could use more "fairness" in my life too, but them's the breaks.

Well, that about sums it up.

  • When it comes to the Middle East, IMO, there is no longer any concept of fair. It's just a mess, plain and simple.
  • Of course they lost. Syria won't let them win. Much like Turkey won't let the Kurds win (or the Cypriots). Yup, that scrap of land in Israel should be given to the palestinians, but fuck you if you think we're giving up a square centimeter of Syria.
