Journal Chacham's Journal: In Passing: my phone is three years old 2

In the elevator today, on my way to the sixth floor, a man and woman were talking. She told him that she had a new phone, and after he asked, she explained (iirc), "It's a 5s....my old phone was a 'droid", putting on a more serious face, "it was three years old".

Luckily the doors opened an i got off. I might just have burst out laughing...youngsters.

The desk in the office had two 1950s era bakelite phones- one labeled Odel, one labeled Hood River- with two different phone numbers. And you had to remember to dial the right one to avoid long distance fees.

I think it was Professor Hacker in the Billiard Room with the Barkelite Phone.

      Judge: Which phone?
      Defendant: The one labeled Odel.
Judge: The incident happened in Hood River. Did you pay the zone charge?
      Defendant: No.
      Judge: Curious.

      No, no reason at all.
