Journal Chacham's Journal: Slashdot Habits: More dropped friends to make room for foes. 6

Dropping even more friends to make room for foes. With a few exceptions, any friend without a JE from >2002 is dropped. 2003 should be soon as well.

For me, the main reason for friends is JEs, though i do friend once in a while to show support of what a person must have thought when responding to an article.

Being i must have about three-hundred foes, i'm not sure i can keep this going for too much longer.

  • don't you get more friend/foe slots if you subscribe?
  • What's the point of 'foes' anyway?

That they can't write in your Journal? That they are 'marked men'? Or do you just have a penchant for publicly disliking people? Or all of the above?

A filter of (people who use) profanity. Discuseed here [slashdot.org].

They can. It's not common that i make a JE no foes.

      That they are 'marked men'?

That i probably don't want to read what they have to say.

Where's public? Where's dislike? I have nothing against my foes, i just don't want to read their JEs or comments.
      • Fair enough.

I experiment wildly with my preferences in order to read/see as few as possible of the posts I would like to call sheepdot posts: micro$oft is always evil; bill gates is satan; george bush is a moron; the U.S. Constitution grants you whatever rights you wants; yada, yada, yada.

It has never struck me before, but I suppose the foe-function might work to weed out those posts. Hmmm...

So what's your policy: one strike and they're out, or do they have to use profanity repeatedly in order to qualify
        • One occurance. It simply means they do use (at least) casual profanity, and thus are probably people i'd like to not see.

As i remind those who ask, it has nothing to do with them, they have full right to do as they wish. I just don't want to read it.
