I just finished metamoderating, and I was wondering... why do we meta funny/unfunny posts? If they don't affect karma, and if humor is so subjective, why do we bother?

  • Even though Funny doesn't affect the karma of the poster, if someone is regularly metamodded as "Unfunny", the M2 causes the moderator to lose "favor" - whatever you choose to call the moderating point distributor - and cannot moderate as often; thus, saving the world from the tyranny of poor humor.

  • Funny still affects the post's score. If a post is modded funny, then more people are likely to see it. The moderation system is used for more than just karma.
