Journal Teddy Beartuzzi's Journal: What the hell is the name of this song? 4

For years now, I've been trying to find this song that I heard on the radio. I think it was at least 10 years ago, but I'm unsure about that. I've looked on google, but all I can find are a few other folks in the same situation, trying to find the same song.

It was a jaunty fast paced Christmas tune, sung by a Christmas turkey, excited because he'd been "invited" to dinner. I remember a few lines:

Oh, I've been invited for Christmas,
As a turkey I am blessed.

I've heard that turkeys make good gravy,
So I'm going to offer to cook.

Then there's a slow stuttering part:

And what's Uncle Max...
Going to do with that axe?

Any help with this would be appreciated, songwriter, performer, name of the tune, where to find it, etc.

What the hell is the name of this song?

  • It only took a few seconds on google, so it''s probably not what you're looking for, but the turkey freaking out when they bust out the ax matches...

    • Good try, not the right song. That sounds much more punk than what I'm looking for. Picture a Muppet turkey, happily singing "Ohhhh, I've been invited for Christmas...". Happy, upbeat, etc.

There may not even have been any background music, it may have perhaps just been a comedy skit kind of thing.

      • Is this [ladyofthecake.com] the turkey you're looking for?
        • No, I don't think so. Unless they break out in song a few seconds later. The turkey in the song was basically unaware that folks cook turkey for dinner, and that guy seems mighty aware of it. :)

I've searched Google long and hard, never found a thing. Closest I can find is some folks doing exactly the same thing [google.ca]

It's probably some obscure song on somebody's comedy album, and it just never made it big like "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" did, etc.

          Thanks for all your help.
