No, this isn't a "Time to come clean" JE ;-)

Philly looked HOT: But, they were playing the Giants. Sorry, consider it a preseason game with Philly's first team playing second and third stringers. Also, the three touchdown passes to TO? Umm, bad idea... now he'll expect that kinda stuff.

Skins vs Bucs: Washington D looks fine, O looks good, and TB looks flat out bad. For some reason, I don't have pleasure in seeing TB lose, cause I can't hear Warren Sapp cry about it afterwards.

Cincy vs Jets: The Cincy O line looked terrible. Rudi ran for hardly nothing. They made adjustments to the line in the 3rd quarter that helped, but by that time, they needed to throw because they were running behind. Jets O line, on the other hand, looked fantastic. Someone needs to remind Curtis Martin of his real age. Jets D looked solid. Good cover-2 combined with lotsa pressure. Cincy D-line was pushed around and the LBs weren't making good angles. The DB were exposed, but once Deltha O'Neil returns, the DBs will be good. I think I'm almost willing to put the Jets over the Pats in my prediction, now.

Browns vs Ravens: Browns played great Defense. The O didn't click till late. The Ravens D looked young and inexperienced. But, this was a game about emotions. The Browns were torched by Jamal Lewis last year and this is a rivalry game (lotsa those in the AFCN). I'm guessing they'll return to earth against the Cowboys. I'd really like to see Kyle Boller throw lotsa passes against the Steelers next week, though :-D

Steelers vs Raiders: The Steelers controlled the first half until the very end. Ground game was decent, Maddox didn't make mistakes, the defense was stiffling. This broke down in the second half, but they squeaked the win off. Next week they won't have to play against a great QB like Gannon, so I think the win vs Baltimore won't be tough.

San Diego vs Houston: I think the Texans just became Bolts fans. Why? Cause if the Bolts do like everyone predicts (thats a whole lotta losin), the Texans just became the losers bitch.

Fantasy Football: The Plus league is coming. Paypal hasn't released the cash to me, and I'm tapped out until payday (wednesday). Will have it setup before next weekend. WIAK and Eggman still owe me, FYI.

  1. Philly looked HOT: But, they were playing the Giants. Sorry, consider it a preseason game with Philly's first team playing second and third stringers. Also, the three touchdown passes to TO? Umm, bad idea... now he'll expect that kinda stuff.
FK picks up on the BIG problem with Philly: TO's expectations. What happens when a really good defense shuts him down and 2 or 3 other guys get the glory? Or when Philly is losing and Andy doesn't call on him? Bottom line, when will TO burst?

With that said, Philly is scary good and if TO remains even-tempered, then I think Philly has a serious shot at the big show.

Giants. Uhm, Mrs. Manning? Yes, your son will recover, but he'll need some rest. Did you see that hit put on little Eli? Oh my gawd! He got up and looked around for big brother and daddy. Welcome to the NFL Mr. Manning. It looked like Kurt listened to his wife again in the off-season. Man, he sucks now.

Every Defensive Coordinator in the country is looking at this game and realising that you can end Brad Johnson's day by simply pressuring him. The guy can't play if he's seeing Linebackers every play. If you give Johnson 4 seconds after the snap, he's going to pick you apart and make you cry. If you pressure him, he'll turn the ball over. Did anyone see Simeon Rice? 3 tackles? Yeah, yer the best in the league asshat.

Skins. I said it when Denver let him go: Clinton Portis IS the best RB in the league. The guy has NEVER received the respect he has earned and he still goes out EVERY week and delivers. I like the Skins to take the Division. Ok, now say it with me kids: Matt Bowen. Little guy packs a BIG punch. Watch for him to make some big plays this year. Skins have a cake schedule until Halloween and Green Bay. November 21 is when they go visit Philly and that is going to be a can't miss game.

Golf was on during this game and it was way more exciting.

I taped this game, so in the future when I'm suffering from insomnia I can pop it in and catch a few zzzzzzzs.

Hehe. Yup, they're crying in DA RAIDER NATION this morning. They lost to the Steelers. THE STEELERS! Oh my gawd... I saw NOTHING from the Raiders yesterday. Nothing. Not even a hint of wanting to win. Gonna be a L O N G season in Oakland. The Steelers weren't particularly good either.

  1. San Diego vs Houston: I think the Texans just became Bolts fans. Why? Cause if the Bolts do like everyone predicts (thats a whole lotta losin), the Texans just became the losers bitch.
No offense, but another of the "who cares" games.

My additions:
Bears. They suck. I am tired off this Mickey Mouse, horseshit year after year. Next week they travel to Green Bay. If they play the same way, then this is going to be ANOTHER long ass season. Rex Grossman... who the hell signs his paycheck? And why? The guy is making the same silly bullshit mental errors he made at Florida. I'll say it again: the Bears need to get serious about talent, they need to sign a hardcore QB to take control of the offense and then they need to retain their stars. End of story.

Rams: whatever. They're lucky they were playing the Cards. How many turnovers?

Cardinals: best damn thing the Cards EVER did was hire Dennis Green. As seen by yesterday's game, the only reason that the Cards stayed with the Rams was Green's experience. I like the Cards and I think next season they will be a VERY serious contender for the division.

Pattys. Seriously good. Better than I thought they would be. They have a real shot of repeating. Damn that Tom Brady. He is making a good case for being the best QB in the league.

Colts. YET another game in which Manning is called on and he doesn't deliver. At least he has his personal endorsements.

49ers. Another rebuilding year. Is this like 6 in a row?

Falcons. Vick looked stiff. Hopefully, he'll bring the magic next week. I didn't see much of a spark... could be a long season in Atlanta.

Cowboys. Help Wanted: 1 QB, under 38 who can run and throw. Vinny AIN'T the guy. And can I just say, that Vinny has never been the guy in the NFL? I just did. Tuna needs to get someone in there and soon.

Vikings. Scary good. But, can they beat Favre and Co. in Green Bay? And can Mr. Moss stay out of trouble

Ok. So, I lambasted the Broncos after letting Portis go... and then yesterday Quetin Griffin goes in for 2TDs and 156 yards. Mike Shanahan is by far one of the best NFL couches around.

The rest of the league... yeah well... go read ESPN.

Exactly. Shanahan knew he could make another 1k rusher (he's done it every year). A shutdown corner (maybe the best in the league, otherwise a top 5) is tough to come by. I think the Bronc's got the better end of the deal, honestly.

Is this entry why you deleted you JE??

Not necessarily (1)

Skins badly needed a RB who could play Joe Gibbs' style of ball-control football, and they got him in Portis. [washingtonpost.com] At least this week, the heavy pressure [washingtonpost.com] from the LBs on Brad Johnson seems to have made up for the loss of Champ Bailey.

I deleted my JE after I saw yours. I figured I'd just post my opinions here, rather than flooding the market with NFL journals.

I think the Browns (1)

sielwolf (246764) | about 10 years ago | (#10237212)

might have a solid shot against the Cowboys. The Cowboys still lacked the ability to run and were unsuccessful in getting anything out of their passing. The Browns might be able to repeat the pressure they got on Boller.

And their defense might be stung by the points the Vikes put up, but they still then in the class of Baltimore and the others. They aren't anything monstrously dominant ala '00 Ravens or '03 Bucs.

If Garcia can keep his team away from turnovers, the Browns might do alright.

Sorry about the delay, Josh... (1)

I've never used PayPal before and I had to set up a new account. PayPal UK's basic service only accepts Direct Debit payments from a bank account, so I had to request a DD be set up, etc and this takes way too long.

I've chased it up today but it looks as if someone somewhere screwed up because their verification process, which should have been over and done with by now, has still not run its course.

As soon as I'm able to put funds in the account (and I'm now chasing this up daily) I'll get the money to you and drop you an email to let you know it's been done.

PS. Titans don't look like they will finish fourth in the division, do they?

No problems, dude... just need to keep a tally, cause I lost my 'paid' list last year.

And remember how the Bills knocked the Pats out their first game? This is just week 1.... then again, the Texans looked like pansies, which is probably the biggest surprise to me.

San Diego vs Houston: I think the Texans just became Bolts fans...
It was bad, but it wasn't that bad. The two interceptions completely killed us! The fumbles didn't help much, either. Plus, the lights went out for a while in thge stadium. That totally stalled things while the Texans were working on a huge stop. Side note: Reliant is the Power Co. for the Houston area. The only good thing about a loss is laughing everytime I see the Dom Capers "Meltdown in progress" face. Just watch one losing game, and you'll see what I mean.

Now, being from Houston, I totally hate the Cowboys, but I am an Eddie George fan. The Cowboys could go 0-16 for all I care, as long as Eddie gets 1,000 yards and a couple of touchdowns this season. :p But, why not play someone with some big game experience to fuel a comeback? I mean, he didn't play at all in the 2nd half after a pretty good 1st half. What's up with that? I mean, just one or 2 plays, please Tuna? Will anyone think of the children...with fantasy teams.
