Apparently I can't remove my oldest journal entries, just edit them.

FWIW, I've been a Netflix subscriber for nearly 3 years now and haven't had any issues with their service. Turnarounds are very fast and have never had an "available" disc fail to ship the day it was planned.

Yeah, well, I had NF for a while, jumped to BB when I was severely throttled back. I may jump back to another try of NF here in a month. I'm keeping my list "warm" over at GreenCine, which is slow as a glacier but dependable. :)

Very interesting information. I was a Netflix customer until I moved from in town to out in the boonies -- we got Dish and cancelled NF. We never had any problems with NF, but Dish made it redundant.

Now, we may be getting rid of the dish (it's too easy for some family members to rack up large bill$), and I was considering re-upping with a DVD mail service. I suspected that Blockbuster would be teh suck, and your story will be enough to convince the rest of the family not to use it. I hate Blockbuster f

So, in your opinion, should I put GreenCine at the top of my list? Note that I live 60 miles outside of Dallas, where NetFlix has a distribution center.

Well, if you've already been through the GC catalog and haven't seen a lot of availability for what you want, then don't :) I'm more into foreign and arty movies than anime, so it works out for me. The GC deliveries are slow enough where I basically expect 1 round of deliveries on my 3-out plan per week, though.

Small world! I'm (way) SE of town. Good to know that GreenCine can still manage a 1-week turnaround from the left coast, though I'll probably have to go with NF just to satisfy the family units. They don't all understand the virtue of patience.
