    I only know because I get e-mailed when a "friend" writes a journal. I use this to find out when Taco writes about what's happening.

    But when other "friends" write in journals, I get e-mails too. You're my friend for some reason (probably what I considered a very insightful or interesting comment, possibly for humor, don't remember) so I got notified.

    But I don't read journals otherwise.

    • Is the option that emails your friends journals only available to Slashdot subscribers?

      I do not see it. ..... or I am blind which could also be true.

  • BillyGates frequently posts insightful, knowledgable stuff in the MSFT realm. I get the little e-mails when there is a journal update by a "friend". I just couldn't pass up this topic when it showed up in my inbox.

    Problem solved. Move along, move along.

      Oh god shoot me!

      I have been out of IT for years and knowledgable is one thing I am not. I suppose that I have my head on straight and that I am not one of those guys who say Linux is the answer to every solution is probably the reason and your a troll if you disagree with me.

      I do like SQL Server and .net as the only 2 MS products that are decent despite the company's questionable business practices.

      Now I need to find the opt
