Got a late XMas present. Metroid Prime: 2. Been so busy lately, I've hardly had time to really play it much, but its as good as the first from what I have played (plus you already start with the varia suit, morph ball, missiles, and bombs!).

I get a telescope for Christmas, right. What happens? Its been cloudy ever since. And its raining or mostly cloudy until next wednesday (possibly longer, cause I can't find a good extended forcast). Blargh!

Football: I only fear the Chargers right now. Denver isn't playing well enough. The Colts can't produce THAT much offense against the Steelers in Heinz. The Pats are still a fear, but not as much as San Diego. The Iggles won't get past the NFC Championship game (if they get that far). You can't lose your last two games. Reid shoulda put in starters for at least a quarter. It'll be a month since they've played a game when they play their next game. Besides, the whole NFC looks like crap. Doesn't matter who makes it to the big game. The AFC will trounce the NFC (well, maybe Eagles vs Colts would be nothing but offense and last possession wins).

Well, I don't have anymore vested interest in college football (Auburn should had a chance at #1 IMHO), and Cincinnati just got trashed by Illinois in basketball.

and Utah should have had a chance at Auburn, but the BCS wouldn't do that, since the winner of a Auburn Utah game would have a serious gripe about not being number one.

That's awesome (1)

Metroid Prime 2:

I finally cracked my copy this weekend and although its fun so far I'm kindof annoyed that they are stuck in a rut.

So far its very similar to Prime 1. I know there are some subtle differences, but I mean comeon, how many times are we going to start out with full uberness only to be hit by something that deactivates all our cool toys so we have to go find them again?

Also, running around all these dead soldiers, their "logs" are making me laugh. It seems that half the soldiers decided to make a log entry *just* before their untimely demise. If I'm ever a soldier on some alien planet.... I'm _never_ making a log entry.

On Football: What really irritates me is that the NFC are sending two teams that are 8-8 to the playoffs, and AFC has three teams done that were 9-7.

My opinion, the wildcard spot should go to the teams with the best record no matter which league they are in. Of course I realize how that would complicate things, but its utterly rediculous that the Vikings are going to the playoffs despite the fact that they finished only 8-8 and have only won 3 of their last 10 games, while a team like Buffalo, who finishes 9-7 winning 8 of their last 10 games sits at home.

I suppose the only way they could make it dumber is if they used the BCS system. ;)

I didn't much like Metroid Prime 2(didn't not like it, just had a kind of eh feeling towards it) until the first "post-temple level" or so... but after that it got good. Very good(just after the dark suit and first energy controller).

I got metroid 1 for GC for x-mas. what a nice game. I'm at the giant plant thingy (and having flashbacks to windwaker).

Iggles v. Colts (1)

Nothing but Offense?
I'm sorry, but didn't the Birds lead the league in fewest points allowed? (They were before Sunday.)

And what's Reid's record after a bye?
How about freaking perfect?!?!?!

You just worry about the AFC there, alright. I'm glad the Steelers already have it wrapped up. I would look out for the Jets, though. That's a team that should scare you. Don't know the odds on them getting to Heinz, but that's a team that's just waiting to sneak up and kill someone. No, I don't think they'll make the Supe, but they're a killer.

All offense. Indeed.
Considering how many backups played in the last two NFC Championships, I'm actually thrilled they got 'live' reps.
Let's see, McNabb's healthy, unlike last two years.
Starting RB is healthy, unlike last two years.
Full defensive line, unlike last two years.
Two Pro Bowl Corners and a Pro Bowl safety, unlike last two years.
After the hit Lito took in St. Louis, I would've had the guy in hyperbaric chambers back in Philly.

Didn't you say the same thing when the steelers spanked the eagles offensively and showed them what a real defense is like?

The Steelers D is tops in all categories worth mentioning. Total yards, total score, rushing, etc...

Now, Indianapolis, on the other hand, have been able to successfully tear apart defenses pretty easily. Even tough defenses. I wouldn't hope on your defense if the Colts came to Jacksonville to play Philly (its one thing to deal with Indy in the cold weather of PA... its another in the nice and warm field at Jacksonville... its not turf, but it will probably be very condusive for a high powered passing attack). I'd hope on McNabb being able to avoid dwight freeny. That dude is flat out fast and made Johnathan Ogden look like a rookie.

I'm just saying, you shouldn't diss the Birds D. It's not like they suck or anything. Don't judge them from one flat game at the end of 3 against AFC teams.
Reid doesn't play the AFC tough for whatever reason and they had a Conference game the following week.

And I'll worry about Tony Dungy in the playoffs when he gets past the first game.

You do realize Westbrook wasn't in that Pittsburgh game, don't you? You understand how important he is to the offense, don't you?

As for Mr. Freeney, we'll see how Tra or Runyan handles him. The biggest backup group Reid has been playing has been O Line. The starters have all been banged up and this experience will be invaluable should someone get hurt. That's why they haven't missed a beat the last 3 years considering all of their injuries. Everyone said they were done when they lost that rookie in the first game.
Did Cowher rest his O line? Hmmm.

Loved it. (1)

Those HL2 guys have Waaaay too much time on their hands.

Question. How in the hell did the Seahawks make it into the playoffs? Was it some sort of statistical error or a practical joke? They started out really strong and then fell apart towards the end. That seems to be a classic pattern here in Seattle. The Mariners bullpen is, or at least was, legendary for blowing the lead. The Sonics seem to be on a roll right now. I'm guessing that it will end in a few weeks. The Seahawks ALWAYS seem to lose it in the last part of the season.
