Luxury Yachts Offer Pirate Hunting Cruises

Pack your cutlass, load your cannons, and get ready to collect some pieces of eight; select Russian ocean liners are offering pirate hunting cruises on armed private yachts. £3,500 a day buys you a cruise close to the coast of Somalia and up to Kenya. The boat moves at a speed slow enough to attract pirates. When the ship is attacked, a squad of ex-special forces troops fights back with grenade launchers, machine guns, and rockets. If you want to earn your stripes, you can pay an extra £5 a day for an AK-47 machine gun and £7 for 100 rounds of ammo.

No no, it's spelt "Raymond Luxury Yacht" but it's pronounced "Throat Wobbler Mangrove".

..until the pirates eventually kill a civillian or 2 and/or sink one of the yachts..

Private citizens retaliating against criminals. I love it.

...before a few enterprising young pirates book some tickets and take over the ship with its own AK's.

Do they require any special hunting license to go kill humans for fun and entertainment? I have no problem destroying those who go after innocents, but when tourists go trolling for that kind of trouble, it seems to me that they've earned any that comes their way.

My new necklace, it's made of pirate ears. I'm not a psychopath because pirates aren't really people.

... You have absolutely no power, but you act like it and if you pay a fortune, you get to throw your weight around. Love it. 3

Sounds like the perfect gift for the ninja who's got it all.

I'd go there dressed as a ninja (1)

Thus experimentally answering the old debate whether ninjas are cooler and better than pirates.

Shouldn't your firearms/ammo be included? (1)

You're giving them £3,500 but that doesn't give you any firepower? And £12 does? I realize you'd be funding the boat, crew, and the big guns but that just doesn't sound right. Yeah, I could RTFA, but I'm not new here.

From http://www.safetyatsea.net/ [safetyatsea.net] 09 Apr 2009, NAVIES should take a page from history to battle piracy by resurrecting the Q ship tactic from the 20th Century's two world wars, a security professional has told Fairplay. Kim Petersen, security chief for TranSystems, said heavily armed decoy cargo vessels could halt piracy cold: "What is needed is some game-changing action by US forces, and for part of the answer we need only look to the allied response to the U-boat wolfpacks ...
