Tweetidor, the Humidor That Tweets 18

wolfspirittt writes 'I know what you are thinking.. not another device that tweets something! Yup, another device that tweets something. This time it's a humidor and it tweets the status of its relative humidity and temperature levels. For cigar aficionados, this means a lot.' For everyone else it means that the tweeting ice cube tray can't be far off.

  • out of thin air, I swear it wasn't on the main page, then it appeared between two older articles then when I went back to the main page it was gone again.

    I'm having trouble keeping track of all the twitter-enabled devices being released. Someone should create a twitter feed to keep track of them all.

  • What is up with appliances having to use twitter? There's been a serious rash of pointlessly tweeting appliances that are, for some reason, getting linked from /. "For cigar aficianados, this means a lot". No, it means you're a dick who wants to show off your cigars and expensive toys. If you care about the condition of your cigars, have it text/email/whatever YOU. That's kind of cool, and useful. Why is twitter necessary for this?       do you know how twitter works?
      You have to subscribe to a tweet, it isn't broadcast to everyone. Presumable the owner would subscribe. As could anyone else that is interested, presumable that wouldn't be many people.

      Twitter is used becasue its an easy way to broadcast a message to interested parties; which is all twitter is.

      What is it with you Luddite whiners and your need to post everywhere your inability to grasp uses for technology?

  • I'm always forgetting to check the meter on mine 'cause I store it on top of the fridge, but this would be really handy.
    • Thank you. It seems there are quite a few others that also like this idea. If someone approaches me to make one I may have to take them up on that offer. :)
  • I wouldn't buy one -- it's not *that* great an idea -- but were I to receive one as a gift it would get me to open a Twitter account, which is really saying a lot.
