The First Geek Wedding At a LinuxFest 93

At the Ohio LinuxFest yesterday, two Linux geeks were married — or had their projects merged into a single trunk, as the officiant, Lord Drachenblut, put it. The wedding of Randy Noseworthy (proprietor of the Juiced Penguin) and Janet Edmonson was announced last week and was live-tweeted by at least one attendee — here's his photo of the happy couple. There's also a video of the ceremony, at which Jon "Maddog" Hall offered a blessing via pre-recorded audio.
Update: 09/26 20:03 GMT by KD : In the comments, anyaristow notes that this wasn't the first such wedding; Rob Landly and Fade were married at Penguicon in 2007, with Steve Jackson officiating and Eric Raymond as best man.

      Very funny indeed.

And yes, for all like me already married, after laughing at this, a strange sad feeling grew on me, remembering when my income was mine.

I *think*, not really sure, I was able to buy CDs and food, not only food.

That's not really fair. He has a wife.

ESR is almost neurotypical. That is why he has been able to do the corporate relations stuff that he has.

There are such? I heard before but now I see for myself. Sakes alive !! It's as if marriage was a wish granted before death comes knocking his final toll ??

    • You didn't even read the title? It said wedding. They are husband and wife, not girlfriend and boyfriend.

      • One, he said "had", which is past tense. Two, that's commonly a preparatory stage leading to husband & wife.

Big question is: Âwere they girlfriend and boyfriend, ever?

Maybe someone, quite rude, were kidding them and told them to get married, and if so, they will get a decent linux-desktop experience.

True; it was, however, the first such event at the Ohio LinuxFest. I missed the actual wedding, but at the End after Douglas McIlroy's closing keynote address, one of the organizers (I think it was Beth Eicher; I was sitting a little too far back to see) told everyone and che
