The Norwegian Time Hole

samzenpus posted more than 4 years ago | from the dark-overlords-of-the-universe dept.

Idle 14

fredrik70 writes "It seems that last month's light show over Norway is still on a lot of minds. Those minds have had over a month to come up with theories, some of which seem a little out there. From a crazy article: 'Russian scientists are reporting to Prime Minister Putin that the high-energy beam fired into the upper heavens from the United States High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) radar facility in Ramfjordmoen, Norway this past month has resulted in a “catastrophic puncturing” of our Plant’s thermosphere thus allowing into the troposphere an “unimpeded thermal inversion” of the exosphere, which is the outermost layer of Earth’s atmosphere.'" On the other hand it might just be a failed missile test. I'm going to warm up the infinite improbability drive just in case.

Any new info or just speculation? (1)

Rip Dick (1207150) | more than 4 years ago | (#30770622)

I thought it was pretty well established that it was a failed Russian missile launch.

It's hard not to believe the Pakistan Daily! I mean, if you can't get reliable news from them where can you get it? :-P

"But to the most critical aspect of these events it surely lies with the Western World’s continued arrogance in regards to experimenting on both our Planets natural species and human beings, and though who may think that they are ‘gods’, are continuing to give evidence that they are acting more like devils."

...Not just reliable, but unbiased too!

Not a great work for russian scientists (1)

elettra (1721410) | more than 4 years ago | (#30772424)

Russian scientists spent a month to decide it was an HAARP effect... only few days to reach the same conclusion (and much more) in this italian blog... (in italian language): http://marcobiso.blogspot.com/2009/12/preparatevi-al-2012.html [blogspot.com]

Occam's razor [wikipedia.org] ... This theory fails it!

But.... (1)

w0mprat (1317953) | more than 4 years ago | (#30776402)

it was just a rocket spiraling out of control. A rocket exhaust plume merely behaves differently in space/ the exosphere than in the lower atmosphere.

I like it! (1)

Sounds like something copypasted from StarTrek :)

[FLASH!] That funny thing in the sky? Why that was just a Russian rocket son. There aren't any such things as cloaking failures in artificial spacetime wormholes near our planet. Certainly none that aliens travel through anyway. Nosiree.

Come on, this is quoting a Pakistani newspaper... are you surprised that according to them Russia have apparently all of the sudden changed its mind from the previously admitted cause - a failed russian intercontinental missile launch [slashdot.org] ? What next will american devils do?
