Linux Monument Unveiled in Russia

samzenpus posted more than 3 years ago | from the hail-to-the-bird dept.

It's funny. Laugh. 15

An anonymous reader writes "The Tyumen Linux user community has unveiled a Linux monument featuring Tux. The project is sponsored by Sergey V Mikhailov, CEO of the Tyunet hosting provider. In this monument, Tux is depicted with eagle wings that symbolize Linux's strength and unlimited possibilities."

well hardly a monument. It seems to be like 10cm tall or something. More of a figurine. Nice design though...

Where in the definition of "monument" does it define the correct size?

I was trying to read the article (my russian reading skills are a bit crap), but I think the actual monument is still in the future -- but that little figurine is what it will look like ....

I'm sure they're grateful to Linus, for giving them such a useful platform to use in the typical Russian banditry, thuggery and racketeering.

This is the year of Linux on the piedestal.

Definitely not a monument (1)

Yfrwlf (998822) | more than 3 years ago | (#33725834)

A monument you don't hold. A monument is big and heavy and can't be easily moved.

Up in the air, it's an eagle, a vulture, no, it's Tux. C'mon, really?

A miniature (1)

Predatory QQmber (1724716) | more than 3 years ago | (#33755350)

Of course it's not a monument. It's a goddamn miniature of the monument. Author is taking donations for building and installing one.
