malorkus writes "This Norwegian site details the process of building an awesome Bender (from Futurama) case mod, complete with an Optical drive in his mouth that you slot CDs into! Trip Master Monkey's been Karma Whoring for a while, He spent the money on a subscription and no he's whoring it up. But its been useful and on topic, as opposed to the First post and other trolls, so whats the problem?

I don't see the problem with him, whereas you and I are wasting posting space pointing out what everyone can see (his .sig is kind of hard to miss).

Rough translation:
One button is the power button and the other button is a voice button playing "Bite My Shiny Metal Ass"

Re:mirror of full article (0)

Anonymous Coward | more than 9 years ago | (#12281975)

The mirror does not help, since it is ad1.hardware.no that is slashdoted and not overklokking.no. As this are only the ads, adding 127.0.0.1 (or similiar) to /etc/hosts will help.

Re:So which is it? (5, Insightful)

SethJohnson (112166) | more than 9 years ago | (#12282149)

a part of me says these guys need to get a life.

Sometimes I wonder what people mean by this phrase. "get a life"-- what does one need to do to qualify as having a life? I'm assuming that this is the stereotypical checklist for those seeking a life:
  • Job
  • spouse
  • house
  • 401K plan
  • kids
People like Jeff Hornby (no flame intended for the parent poster) must look at these Norwegians and assume that they're not sufficiently burdened by the items on this list such that they have free time to pursue hobby activities like this casemod. Perhaps when people say, "get a life," it's out of jealousy from the perspective of someone who feels bogged down by their own life and they wish for others to become similarly restrained.

I personally think all of our lives would be less interesting if everyone had "a life."

Prosjekt Bender

Forfatterbilde

Publisert: 14 april 2005

* 1 stk Slim slotload DVD ROM/CD-brenner fra Carputer.no
* 1 stk VIA EPIA-M 10000 Mini-ITX hovedkort
* WLAN-kort med antenne
* 2 stk 10 watt lyspï½rer (12volt)
* 1 stk 120 GB harddisk + 4 stk eksterne 250 GB disker koblet til firewire
* Panserslange (til fï½tter og hender)
* 3 kjï½kkenboller i metall fra Coop (til toppen av hode, og til beina)
* 4-5 papplater
* 3 stk 0,7 mm stï½lplater
* 1 Stk Digital lydopptaker fra Produkt 24

Endelig begynte Bender å ta form, men likevel mye arbeid igjen.
