FORGET DRAGONS! TIME FOR PONIES!!!1!

Zonk posted more than 8 years ago | from the ponies-and-polyhedrals dept.

.yosh, who's totally cool I know him textd me to say that Wizards of the Coast is totally making a My Little Pony Roleplaying Game!! OMG! Now I don't have to play with that stupid dungeons and dragons book with all the impossibly clothed women characters. Ponies 4EVA! From the site: "If it's on Butterfly Island, it's in the My Little Pony RPG core rulebook, and we expect the book to be an invaluable tool for RPG fans and game developers alike,' said Jonathan Tweet, senior game designer with Wizards of the Coast. 'Not only will this RPG appeal to current fans of My Little Pony, but it will also help core roleplayers come to appreciate the depth and possibilities in this unique fantasy world. I know I did.'"

As one of the 1.7%, and never having played an online game, I would totally play a My Little Pony game. And it might even get me into the larger world of gaming. Also I really would enjoy the pink look as an option. Thanks, boys.

Re:c'mon (1)

Delphix (571159) | more than 8 years ago | (#15042652)

This happens every year on April 1st. Most of the joke articles are always pretty lame jokes and they tend to carry one theme out until most slashdotters are begging for it stop. I'm sure they derive some sick pleasure from it :)

In anycase, from your Slashdot ID, you've been around long enough to know how today works. So just sit back and show some pony love :) Or if you just can't stand it chill out, close your browser and go outside. Slashdot will be all normal and pony free again tomorrow.

My daughter is about to turn twentysix, and I'm still wasting brain cells remembering about Rainbow Brite and the Sphere of Fucking Light.

See, that's the thing - otherwise useful neurons are being occupied by this information. Worse, I have another daughter who's three months old, so I have to do this all over again in a couple of years. I'm vaguely worried that I'll be gurgling on my deathbed some years from now, without a thought in my head except for that damn "my little ponyyyyyyy, my little ponyyyyyy" music...

Where did you get that idea? It clearly says "From the site:" before the Butterfly Island stuff. Doesn't mean any editors know what it is.

Re:Butterfly Island (1)

cammoblammo (774120) | more than 8 years ago | (#15048777)

Good point. In fact, the fact that it's on the site means there's a pretty good chance the editors don't know this at all.

Not to put too fine a point on it, if you ever read Watership Down [amazon.com] , which was the inspiration for B&B, you know that even though bunnies look cute, there's all kinds of violence, dispair, chemical agents, deception, and mayhem goin' on underfoot.

Which is it...inquiring minds want to know???
