Chris Albrecht writes "VoloMedia announced today that it has been awarded what it called the "patent for podcasting." According to the press announcement, patent number 7,568,213, titled "Method for Providing Episodic Media," covers: "...the fundamental mechanisms of podcasting, including providing consumer subscription to a show, automatically downloading media to a computer, prioritizing downloads, providing users with status indication, deleting episodes, and synchronizing episodes to a portable media device.""

Whats the point of podcasting? (1)

I consider myself pretty lazy to the point where I use launchy to launch all apps in windows and don't use mouse or touchpad, instead I use the blue pressure sensing thing that doesn't move in the middle of they keyboard. But having a program do all the stuff mentioned in the summary seems overkill, oh wait a sec, maybe its not laziness, maybe its just idiots who cant figure out how to use torrents? The people who subscribe to podcasts should just go live off life-support.

Lame! (1)

Completely lame. Maybe somebody will patent the practice of rickrolling next?
