clang_jangle (975789) writes "According to artcles found at autoblog and read write web, Ford is using Microsoft's sync system to allow customers to use their existing cellular usb modems to convert the car into a wifi hotspot. While there are other ways to get your car online, the sync system does look especially practical.
Last year BMW made some noise about FOSS for their cars, but they seem to have stopped talking about it since. Will we see a FOSS option for automotive infotainment systems in the future?"
