Chinese pirates launch Ubuntu that looks like XP

Windows 1

Anonymous Coward writes "Just as the title suggests: Ylmf, famous for pirating Windows XP, have just released a version of Ubuntu that looks JUST like Windows XP. Really, really similar. Apparently because Microsoft were cracking down on the actual Windows XP pirating — though, I think they will still suffer for ripping off the GUI _exactly_."

Programmers and M$ (1)

I can assure you that I do know of at least Three programmers who are devs for well known Linux distro's but also work for Microsoft. Have you not seen these changes occuring over the last few years? It is not that Linux or BSD has evolved particularly, it is because coders are sat in both camps and deploying code vice versa. Years ago if you wanted to install Linux or BSD, you had to know how to make boot disks, create partitions correctly etc and then get your GUI working and it took an awful lot of configuring. Nowadays any fool can install Linux or BSD and it looks like windows with the bootloader. Therefore making ubuntu look like XP is not surprising is it?
