RFID tags track harvested kangaroos

schliz (994115) writes "Australia has come up with a local use for RFID: tracking kangaroos ... all the way to the slaughterhouse. The RFID tags will store information like the sex and species of each kangaroo, as well as where and when it was killed. The technology is expected to improve traceability of meat to meet the demands of overseas markets such as Russia, which banned the importing of Australian kangaroo meat last year."
