Georgia to block photographs

cdrguru (88047) writes "The Georgia House is considering a bill to block public dissemination of photographs held by law enforcement which may be offensive to some. This came about after a Hustler writer requested access to some crime scene photos and was denied. The pictures were of a nude and decapitated hiker that had been murdered. While protecting the sensabilities of friends and relatives of the deceased is probably nice, this will probably have some other effects as well if it is passed. The reality of the world today is that if it is titilating, it is going to be used to make money. I'm sure this hikers picture (w/o head) will be all over the Internet soon no matter what."
