Streaming for the win! (1)

This was expected for a while. I understand that a licensing agreement kept them using a playback disk until now. While inefficient it was not much of a hassle to load.

Netflix streaming is the first service that has impressed me as an alternative to torrents. While they are still working on the selection there is a huge catalog of older and fantastic material. For $9/mo all you can watch the price is right and I don't get that urge to hoard as I can go back anytime I want and watch again. The image quality is great on most things (with a 6Mbps DSL connection).

I've been spending too much time exploring movies and TV shows from a few years ago to many decades ago and have come across some real gems I did not know existed, much less know where to get them. It gives me hope that at least one company is finally coming around to the realization that offering a good product for a reasonable price with convenient delivery is a winning combination.
