LoseThos, the ultimate 64 bit OS

Anonymous Coward writes | more than 3 years ago

Operating Systems 3

An anonymous reader writes "LoseThos is an Opperating System written by one man, and designed as the ultimate operating system for your home and work needs. After working on it for ever 7 years, the author is finally releasing it to us, the common computer user. A GPL compliant free, open source OS allows you to add features if you like, legally! Not that you'd need to, with features like Just-in-time compiling (No need for object or exe files), Support for FAT32, and a full physics engine, you shouldn't need much more.

A youtube demo of the OS is available here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAr-xYtBFbY"

This is the future (1)

Linux is slowly becoming a bloated operating system bogged down by commercial interests. LoseThos is a fresh take on idea of an opensource operating system and is, in my opinion, a great alternative for someone who truly cares for OSS.

Now there's serious competition in the OSS operating system market against Linux and with LoseThos' one-man development team adding features compared to the bloated developer base of Linux, I think it's clear who is going to win.

I find this very interesting, especially the way he calls into question the free software philosophy vis a vis programmer freedom,.
