'Hacktivist' Claims Credit for WikiLeaks Attack

digitaldc (879047) writes "A self-proclaimed "hacktivist" said Tuesday he's the computer expert who knocked rogue Web site WikiLeaks offline for several hours through a distributed denial of service attack.

The hacker, who calls himself The Jester and goes by the name th3j35t3r on Twitter, said he was motivated to take down WikiLeaks for patriotic reasons. He also said his other targets include Web sites used by Al Qaeda and other terrorists groups for recruiting purposes."

Who would want to get *ANYWHERE* near the firestorm that is Wikileaks at the moment? The way Julien is being hunted at the moment makes me want to stay as far away as possible. Remember the book (& movie) 'The Pelican Brief'?
