"Kevin Butler" retweets PS3 METLDR Key

Aeternitas827 (1256210) writes | more than 3 years ago

Sony 2

Aeternitas827 (1256210) writes "Sony's VP of (arguably) bad commercials, 'Kevin Butler', received the PS3 METLDR key in a tweet containing a challenge; subsequently, he retweeted this item with a slightly amusing Battleship quip. Someone should research some before blithely clicking the retweet button."

Time to apply trade-secret law? (1)

Max Hyre (1974) | more than 3 years ago | (#35154718)

Which says it's a trade secret only if you do your best to keep it a secret. Since Sony's now published the info themselves, the judge should throw out the suit against Geohot [slashdot.org] et al. (Who's Al, by the way?)

Case pending against Geohot was brought prior to this action...at the time he published, they hadn't, so at the time of the allegation, it still would have been protected. It's certainly an argument to be used for dismissal, but I don't truly think it'll fly.
