Stellar Wormholes May Exist

If a wormhole exists within a star, the stellar body may exhibit measurable properties astronomers might detect. Although interesting, other scientists are skeptical, pointing out that this is highly speculative research."

Now we know why Freelancer likes to think that the most direct route to another system is through the current system's star (at least when you are surrounded by custom systems.)
